On January 11th the store celebrated its first birthday. And what a first year it has been – a year which saw us rise to the challenges posed by the pandemic and culminated in us being nominated in the Rural Business Awards as one of the 6 best rural startups in the country.
As a thank you to our customers we will be launching our loyalty cards so please make sure to pick one up next time you pop in.
Time to reflect and look forward
The store has been a huge success – better than we ever imagined. It has undoubtedly helped to put Detling on the map. The net effect, we hear from customers, is that the village is a much more united community. Throughout the year, Detling residents have shown time and time again their willingness to help others. We would like to pay tribute once again to the dedication of the 30+ volunteers without whom there would be no store. We look forward to your continued custom in 2021.

At the end of February the Rural Business Awards Winners will be announced. We are all on tenterhooks waiting to see if we will be crowned the winner in the Best Rural Start up category.
